    Germany/Hong Kong Joint Research Scheme

This study examines the anxiety symptoms of a community sample of children and adolescents in Germany and in Hong Kong. The specific aims are to estimate the prevalence and risk factors of anxiety symptoms, and to examine the associated psychosocial impairment.
The cross-cultural design allows the recruitment of a large sample size (N=800) and the comparison of risk factors (personal and social/cultural factors) for anxiety symptoms in Germany and Hong Kong. Findings of this study may help to clarify the universality and different forms of anxiety symptoms among youths in these two cultures. (SS03411)
